Here’s another wee piece of midweek fun, this time from veteran McStoryteller, Saltcoats-born Angus Shoor Caan. When it comes to choosing from the lunchtime menu, it’s a case of High Noon et ri Greasy Spoon. Enjoy!
Now, as well as penning short stories and novels, oor Angus is a dab hand at composing limericks – of the Scots type. In fact, McStorytellers has just published his latest collection of witty, irreverent and sometimes bawdy McLimericks. It’s called Four Hunner an’ Coontin’ and it’s the follow-up to his three earlier collections, Coont Thum, Coont Thum Again and Still Coontin’.
And he’s not stopping there! He’s already working on his fifth set of McLimericks, which includes this topical ditty entitled Referendum Poem:
Rur's rem rit says 'naw'
Rur's some cawin' it a draw
Rur's rem rit says 'AYE'
A 'Free Scotland' battle cry
Ren rur's rem rit says hee-haw.
