What it says on the tin. Our trio of stories today entail barroom brawls.

A scunner gets short shrift in The Skelf, a nippy wee piece from Grangemouth-born author Andrew McCallum Crawford.

A bully receives his comeuppance in The Message, a tale of small-town bigotry from Mister McStoryteller, Brendan Gisby.

And a belligerent drunk pays the price in The Cooler, a slice of violence from Cincinnati musician and writer Marc Spahn.

Beauty And The Beast

For your entertainment today, we’re delighted to offer a trio of highly contrasting pieces, courtesy of our Transatlantic McStorytellers.

There’s a pitiless beast on the rampage in Where Do You Get Your Ideas?, a Stephen King-like tale of horror by Canadian Graham Mathew Scott.

There’s another monster, but one to be pitied rather than feared, in Art Broken, a poignant childhood memory from Cincinnati-born Marc Spahn.

And there’s a picture of utter innocence in Breakfast for Cassie, a glimpse into the mind of an autistic child from Boston-based Michael C. Keith.

By the way, Michael’s latest collection of short stories, The Collector of Tears, is now available from Amazon in the US at this link and in the UK at this link. The collection includes a couple of tales first published on McStorytellers, so it’s got to be worth having!

Transatlantic Terrors

Courtesy of a couple of our transatlantic cousins, we have some terror lined up tonight.

There’s the kind of terror that only a seven year-old kid can experience when he meets a ten year-old bully. You’ll find it in Cincinnati-born Marc Spahn’s not-so-pleasant childhood memory, I Barely Remember It.

Then there’s an altogether different kind of terror in store for the ghost-hunters when they stumble across Little Steven in the chilling tale of that name by Canadian Graham Mathew Scott.

Here’s a couple of wee treats on a Friday afternoon. They’re both about rules.

Cincinnati-born Marc Spahn makes his McStorytellers debut with Early Morning Pep Talk Blues, the poignant tale of the house rules a young boy must remember.

Then Mister McStoryteller, Brendan Gisby, adds a smile with No’ on a Friday, the story of one particular office rule it’s always best to observe.
