Writing Back

In despair at the results of the recent General Election, Hawick-based writer, poet and regular McStoryteller Sara Clark decided to fight back by writing back. And what she decided to write is a novel which she has described as “a badass left-wing bitch that doesn't pull it's punches”. Not only that, she is writing the novel, entitled The Last Day, in the form of an uproarious cartoon strip.

Our colleagues over on our sister website McRenegades were so taken by Sara’s latest venture that they asked us if her novel could be McSerialised here on McStorytellers. Naturally, we jumped at the chance. So, even though it has meant displacing young Jack MacRoary for the time being, we’re delighted to bring you today Episode One of Sara’s new novel.

Nobody Knows Anything

Young Jack MacRoary returns today with the fifth instalment of his latest McSerial, Big Brexit Blethers.

This week, in protest at the devastating General Election result in TattyBogle, Brian the Brain posts Shug the Slug to Number Ten Downing Street. Or at least he thinks he does. Read the full story in Episode Five.

As for Jack, he’s thoroughly fed up with all the confusion surrounding Brexit, so he’s decided to take a break from the political scene. But we’re delighted to announce that Hawick-based author Sara Clark will be taking over his McSerial slot while he’s away. Sara promises “political satire with a twist”. Watch this space!

Fading Memory
