Description: On hearin' The Corries sing Liberty.
Damn the men, oor freedom sold,
Damn their lust fir English gold,
Damn their blood that ran sae cold,
Wha selt oor Liberty!
Ca’ jerseys o’ the deepest blue,
Ca’ the he’rts in whom “Hope” grew,
Ca’ the honest an’ the true,
Tae win oor Liberty!
Their Union, wha in secret signed,
The Scottish race tae quell an’ bind,
Their he’rts blood in the dust tae grind,
An’ stole oor Liberty!
Ca’ oor Rampant Lion high,
Ca’ oor Saltire frae the sky,
Ca’ the brave wha voted “Aye!”
Tae win oor Liberty!
While Westminster still ho’ds the sway,
While oor Nation they betray,
While scornin’ whit oor people say,
An’ deny oor Liberty!
Ca’ the vigour o’ oor young,
Ca’ the twang o’ oor ain tongue,
Ca’ oor Anthem, proudly sung,
Tae win oor Liberty!
By deceit an’ lies they’ve sown,
By arrogance that’s overblown,
By their Union we disown,
We’ll claim oor Liberty!
Ca’ the patter frae the West,
Ca’ oor Rab an’ his string vest,
Ca’ the fans that dance the best,
Tae win oor Liberty!
Mind the Heroes o’ oor race,
Oor subjugation they disgrace,
Agin’ thraldom set their face,
An’ wan oor Liberty!
Though their deeds be in the past,
Nail their colours tae oor mast,
Sae Scots may say again, at last,
We’ve wan oor Liberty!
Tak’ oor fate in oor ain hand,
In Jock Thamson’s bairns’ land,
Let Equality an’ Justice stand,
An’ claim oor Liberty!
When the wind o’ change next blaws,
Support oor Culture an’ oor Laws,
Support oor Independence cause,
An’ win oor Liberty!
