Daylight Moon
by Michael C. Keith
Genre: Fantasy/Sci-Fi
Swearwords: None.
Description: A child emerges from a maze to enter another.
_____________________________________________________________________
Right smack in the middle of the endless sun-washed sky hung the full moon. Its presence unnerved Jason when he first saw it as a child. A moon in the daylight seemed disturbingly amiss and potentially dangerous to him. He had never heard that anything other than the clouds and sun could occupy the blue panoply above the cornfield where he spent endless hours playing among the winged stalks that dwarfed him. Emerging from the husky maze, he caught sight of the displaced orb and froze. He dared not move, fearing the mysterious eyeball might detect him and do him harm. Finally, he gathered the courage to slip back to the sheltered path that had led him to the alien world.
